Lightest Double Stroller
When you're searching for a light double-stroller, its folded size and weight are crucial factors to consider. Selecting a stroller that is easy to handle and compact when not in use will make it easier to fit into the trunk of your car and navigate through airport gates and foreign streets.
The best lightweight strollers feature a light, intuitive fold and self-standing mechanisms to reduce the strain on parents' bodies. A few also come with a broad selection of seating options and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
The perfect product for families on the go. Compact and light weight, it has an easy one-handed fold. All-terrain wheels, front suspension and multi-position reclining seats allow children to weigh up to 50 pounds. Parent and child trays with a large storage basket as well as three-tier canopy with windows that peek out to maximize sun protection.
The Cloud has one of the lowest scores in our quality tests due to its flimsy design, hard plastic seats and a design that feels dated. It is also more expensive than other lightweight strollers. This is a bad choice for those looking for a budget option.
It's not the lightest stroller but it has enough features to make it worth a look. The swiveling front wheels make it easy to move on flat surfaces, and it can leap over curbs with minimal effort, unlike many other lightweight strollers that diverge when trying to do the same thing. The Cloud's low, nearly knee-high handle is a downside. It's not adjustable, and it's not adjustable. It's not easy to push when your legs hang in that way. The lack of padding does not make it any easier.
In our tests during our testing, we found the Cloud to be easy to set up and open. It's a little more difficult to close the cloud, however. You need to slide a slider, and then push a large white button for it to collapse. This can be frustrating especially if you're juggling kids while you do it.
The Cloud has a small, but deep storage basket that could fit a medium diaper bag. It's not the greatest width, though you'll probably need to put something in to reach the back to get it back. The Cloud comes with a parent tray and a child tray, each with two cup holders. But both are too small for larger cups or bottles.
Kolcraft is an established family business that has been in existence since 1946. The first products they made were diapers and crib pads however, they now make a wide range of baby products like highchairs and strollers, infant car seats and toys. The company is located in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double stroller with a minimalist design, which is ideal for travel. It's light at 18 pounds (lighter than some single strollers!) It folds flat to make it easy to carry and store. It also comes with independently reclined seats and large all-weather SPF 50 sun visors that have large windows with peekaboos and under seat storage bags. The visors are adjustable to accommodate kids of different heights. It also features a one-step linked parking brake, and is Disney-size approved.
The swivel wheels of the Jeep are also fantastic to maneuver over bumps and uneven surfaces. The stroller does not accept car seats and therefore your children should be at least six months old and have solid neck control to be able to ride in the front seat. The stroller does have an umbrella sun canopy with three panels and each seat comes with its own cupholder and snack tray.
Another stroller that is extremely light is Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend. It's heavier than Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 lbs. However, it's narrower and slimmer (26.5 inches wide!) and comes with a lot of luxe details that make it perfect for travel. It is easy to fold, is very maneuverable and can be tucked away in trunks Pushchairs And Prams overhead compartments of airplanes easily.
Like the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double and Mountain Buggy Nano Duo, the Joovy Kooper X2 is another tri-fold ultralight double stroller. It's quite similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS, however, it has some distinct distinctions. It's also a little more expensive, but it offers more maneuverability and the largest sun canopy. It has a convenient strap for carrying and can hold kids weighing up to 44 pounds for each seat.
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+
If you're seeking a stroller which is light in weight but also packed with features look no further than Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+. It's not just light at 13 pounds, but it comes with plenty of storage in the form of parent and child cup holders, a sippy cup for children pocket and a parent storage pocket, and more. This stroller can also be used with a child's car seat and features a flip-flop-friendly brake that can be easily engaged. It's designed to grow with your child from a newborn stroller to an adult stroller by attaching the car seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children 6 months of age and up.
This stroller has only swivel-wheels and no locking capability which means it won't be the best option for steep or rocky terrain. It's still a good choice for most families, as it is able to be easily maneuvered on pavements and other smooth surfaces.
This is one of the most compact and lightweight double strollers that comes with full-size features. The quick-close feature lets the stroller to fold with just one hand in seconds and is small enough to fit easily into your trunk or garage. It is also able to be used as a travel stroller and is compatible with all car seats without the need for additional adapters.
The Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is unique from other lightweight travel strollers because it has two distinct seats that can each hold up to 100 pounds. The seats feature individual leg rests, as well as three-panel canopies that include flip-out sunvisors and peekaboo window.
The seats are padded to ensure your child's safety. They also come with a five-point safety harness that can be adjusted in three different height positions. Each comes with an infant cushion, which is ideal for infants. The cup holders for parents and child, the cellphone holders, and the huge storage basket will be loved by parents. The stroller can also be purchased with the Yoyo+ Board which transforms it into a tandem double stroller.
Joovy X2 Kooper
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents who want a lightweight double stroller that can carry two children. Its sling style seats are comfortable and offer the same amount of headroom as other double strollers. This allows kids to sit together. The Kooper X2 is unique in that it comes with a completely reclining seat, which makes it a fantastic choice for nap time. The recline mechanism is simple to operate, but it doesn't go completely flat. Children who are taller might find they have a dangling leg when sitting in a reclined posture. It also comes with a large canopy, which we found to be better in blocking out sunlight than other strollers in our top double strollers review.
The stroller is lightweight enough to be able to navigate through door frames. This was an important issue with other strollers we tried. It folds easily and the handlebars are located close to the ground. Its only flaw is its small storage space, which is cramped when full of kids' toys.
Joovy is a family-owned company that creates innovative, practical and high-quality baby products. The company's products are reasonably priced, and they often feature fun designs that will draw children.
In our lab tests we take into consideration a variety of factors to determine the ease of use of a double stroller. This includes how easy it is to fold and set up, how easy it is to adjust the safety harness, and how to open and close the brakes. We also lift and carry the strollers folded as if they were placed in a trunk and how to set up and remove a baby car seat if applicable. We've also assessed the durability and strength of each model, as well as whether it has a tray for parents that can accommodate both child tray.
The Joovy Kooper X2 received the highest score in our Strollers Test Program due to its ease of use. It also got the top score in our most recent guide to the top double strollers. Its user-friendly design features one-hand recline that is tilt-free and a canopy that can rotate forward to provide shade and has ventilation mesh that you can see through when it's tilted, individual kid trays with built-in cup holders, zip-up parent pockets as well as a huge storage basket.
